I have been working as a psychotherapeutic counsellor with adults and young people for 15 years. I also offer supervision to counsellors and therapists working with adults, adolescents and children. I am an accredited member of the BACP.

I strive to create a compassionate, inclusive and empowering practice which welcomes all.

I consider emotional and mental distress to be bio-psycho-social in origin. By this, I mean that we do not suffer only as a result of biology, genetics or illness, but also due to our social context, personal experiences, and how we make sense of the world. Rather than asking, 'what is wrong with you', I often prefer to ask, 'what has happened to you.

I work with a wide variety of people of different ages and with different issues.

I have a particular interest in working with teachers and other education professionals, parents of teenagers and adult children, siblings of people living with long term mental illness and people experiencing the emotional challenges of mid-life, including the menopause.

I also work as a lecturer on an MSc in Psychotherapeutic Counselling course and course lead on a Counselling Certificate Course at a university in the midlands.

My Qualifications include:

  • MA Counselling 2008,

  • Diploma in Child, Adolescent and Adult Counselling and Psychotherapy Supervision 2022,

  • Certificate in CBT with Children and Young People 2017

  • Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy (2022)

My commitment is to offer you a warm, inclusive, empowering and authentic therapeutic relationship. You will be treated with respect and empathy and encouraged to work at your own pace and in your own way.

I am LGBTQI+ affirmative and gender, sexuality and relationship diversity inclusive.

I am an accredited member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). This means that I am accountable to the BACP and work within their Ethical Framework, placing ethical practice at the heart of all I do.

Please contact me if you would like to discuss how I may be able to help you.
